Totally Tubular! Your Guide to Forgotten ’90s Slang!

Remember those days of Push-Up Pops and Bubble Tape? Well, the ’90s weren’t just about cool snacks; they had their own special language too! It was a time when kids and teens had super fun ways to talk that sometimes left grown-ups scratching their heads.

Learning these words was part of being a ’90s kid. It made us feel, like, totally in the know! So, let’s take a fun trip back and remember some of the most awesome ’90s slang phrases we used. You might even find yourself saying some of them again!

All That and a Bag of Chips!

This one meant something was really good, like, amazingly good! It was way beyond just okay. If your new Nintendo 64 game was “all that and a bag of chips,” you knew it was epic!

All…

This little word was used instead of “like” when telling a story. You know, “She was all, ‘No way!’ and he was all, ‘Yeah, way!'” It really helped you understand what people were trying to say!

As If!

Oh, this one is a classic, thanks to a super popular movie! If someone said “As if!” it meant, “No chance, absolutely not!” It was a funny way to say, “I don’t think so, buddy!”

Bounce

This was the cool way to say you were leaving. “I gotta bounce” meant “I need to go,” and “Let’s bounce” meant “Let’s leave now!”

Bout It-Bout It

This phrase came from hip-hop music and meant you were ready for anything! It was like saying, “Sure, why not? I’m game!” If your friends asked if you wanted to go on an adventure, and you were “bout it-bout it,” you’d be ready to go!

Bugg’n

If someone was “bugg’n,” it meant they were freaking out or worrying too much about something small. “Man, why are you bugg’n? It’s just a test!”

Clownin’

You know how clowns can be a little wild and crazy? This word was like that! If someone was “clownin’,” they were acting really crazy or silly. “She was straight clownin’ on her little brother!”

Crib

This was a cool word for someone’s house or apartment. “Wanna come over to my crib?” meant “Wanna come over to my place?”

Crunk

This word was often used for the weekend! When things got “crunk,” it meant they were getting exciting and loud, usually at a party. “It’s Friday, things are gonna get crunk!”

Cut. It. Out!

You really can’t say this without doing the hand gesture, right? (Think: hand chopping the air three times!) It was a funny way to tell someone to stop what they were doing. If you watched TV in the ’90s, you definitely know what this means!

Fart-Knocker

This was a silly insult, made popular by Beavis and Butt-Head. It meant someone was a big dummy or a “doofus.” It was a goofy way to call someone an idiot.

So, what do you think? Did these words bring back some awesome memories?
