Where Would Your MySpace Top 8 Even Be Now?
Where Would Your MySpace Top 8 Even Be Now? We Tracked Down Ours
If MySpace made a comeback tomorrow, be honest. Could you even find 8 people for your Top 8? Because same. We are all 40 now and half our Top 8 owes us a phone call back from 2009.
Let’s take a walk down memory lane and figure out where our old Top 8 actually ended up.
Spot 1: Your Best Friend From Middle School
She was always number one. No debate, no discussion, it was just known. You two had matching heart necklaces, one said “Best” and one said “Friends,” and you would rather die than let her see the other half.
Where is she now? Probably three states away, married with two kids, and you still like every single one of her Facebook posts even though you haven’t had a real conversation since 2015.
Spot 2: The Friend You Fought With Every Other Week
This friendship ran hot and cold. One week you were inseparable, the next week she bumped you down to spot 5 out of pure spite and you cried about it in 6th period.
Where is she now? Honestly? No idea. And that might be for the best.
Spot 3: Your Cousin Who You Basically Grew Up With
Family gatherings hit different when you had a cousin close in age. You two ran the show at every holiday party and probably got in trouble together more than once.
Where is she now? Still your ride or die. Some things never change.
Spot 4: The Guy You Definitely Had a Crush On
He never knew. Or maybe he did and that’s exactly why he stayed in spot 4 and never moved up, because moving him to number one would have given too much away.
Where is he now? Married, works in insurance, and still has no idea.
Spot 5: The Friend Who Moved Away
One day she was in your homeroom and the next she was gone, off to some other state because her dad got a new job. You two swore you would stay best friends forever through AIM and MySpace comments.
Where is she now? You reconnected on Facebook years ago. You like her posts, she likes yours, and that’s the whole friendship now.
Spot 6: The Frenemy You Kept Close on Purpose
You didn’t fully trust her but you also didn’t want her talking behind your back, so Top 8 placement felt like a strategic move more than a friendship decision.
Where is she now? Living her best life on Instagram and somehow still slightly intimidating.
Spot 7: The Friend From a Completely Different Friend Group
She showed you a whole different side of high school. Different lunch table, different weekend plans, but somehow you two just clicked.
Where is she now? You still catch up every few years like no time passed at all.
Spot 8: Whoever You Needed to Fill the Last Spot
Let’s be honest. Spot 8 was chaos. Sometimes it was a genuine friend and sometimes it was whoever you talked to most recently before you hit save.
Where is she now? Your guess is as good as ours.
So Where Does That Leave Us Now
If MySpace really did come back, most of us would be sitting there trying to figure out who even qualifies anymore. Our real Top 8 today probably looks like our group chat, our kid’s pediatrician, and whoever brings wine to girls night.
Tell us in the comments. Who was in your actual Top 8, and where are they now?
